A really awesome new feature added in 1.8! Use @a[x=,y=,z=,dx=,dy=,dz=] with the x y and z being the corner and the differences between that and the other corner as dx dy and dz!

Im guessing that it doesn't work with relative coordinates
You can do tab when you look at a block and the coordinates of the block will be in your chat. And then you can copy and paste them.
